Grants

If you have suffered recently form a flood there maybe? a grant available from the government to help install flood resilient measures to your property.

The best thing to do is contact your local council who will be able to let you know if there is one available for you and how to go about claiming it.

FLOOD DIVERT BARRIER BSI Kitemarked barrier offering protection in one single piece up to 2534mm wide x 1015mm high Kitemarked to a designated maximum water depth of 840mm. The Flood Divert Barrier is probably the lightest, quickest and easiest Kitemarked barrier to install available on the market. No tools required, no fiddly bolts, just drop the barrier in slide the clamp in and throw the lever and your done, it literally takes seconds to do, see the video on the Flood Divert barrier section.

FLOOD DIVERT GATES are BSI Kitemarked, these are the first and only BSI Kitemarked gates available. The single pedestrian gates are BSI Kitemarked to 1.2m (4ft) wide and the pairs of gates are BSI Kitemarked to 4m (13ft) wide.

Both our single Flood Divert Gate and the pairs of Flood Divert Gates have passed the testing set out by BSI (British Standard institute) and have successfully passed the tests.

By far using Flood Divert Gates is the best way to prevent your property from flooding, if you can stop the water at the boundary it is better than stopping it at the door, as it allows time to pump any water away that may be around before it even reaches your door.

Important Advice taken from the Environment Agency website

It’s impossible to completely flood-proof a property but there are lots of things you can do to reduce flood damage.

If your property is flooded it can be costly in terms of money, time and heartache. While it's impossible to completely flood-proof a property, there are lots of things you can do to reduce flood damage. Actions you take could help:

  • prevent water from short, shallow flooding from getting into the building
  • delay flood water from getting into the building if flooding is more severe, giving you extra time to move your possessions to safety and evacuate
  • limit the damage to walls, floors, fixtures and fittings if flood water gets into the building
  • make it easier, faster and cheaper to clean up and dry out, so that you can get your life back to normal as soon as possible.

Whether you rent or own your home or business premises, the most important thing is to prepare now by buying and installing flood products in advance. Don't wait until flooding looks likely as you won’t have time to buy or put the measures in place
